ACE—the Alliance for a Caring Economy—is a powerful platform for uniting organizations to collaborate toward building a more just, sustainable, prosperous, and caring economy.
The seeds for ACE were planted in June 2010 when the Urban Institute published a report commissioned by CPS—The State of Society: Measuring Economic Success and Human Well-Being—that recommended that the most inclusive indicators of economic health should measure our social wealth.
CPS invited others to endorse the Urban Institute report findings, and organizational leaders representing 30 million people worldwide signed-on. ACE connects new organizations with these original signatories in an alliance to put these recommendations into action.
As a coalition of diverse grassroots, research, educational, business, environmental, women's, children's, faith-based, and other organizations, ACE will powerfully influence our economic and social policies at the federal, state and local levels—beginning with new Social Wealth economic indicators.
Endorse The State of Society Report
When GDP (Gross Domestic Product) keeps rising at the same time that joblessness is dangerously high and childcare and educational budgets are slashed, it is clear that we urgently need new measurements that give policy makers and the public a more accurate picture of the true economic health of the country and our citizens.
Based on the findings and recommendations of The State of Society: Measuring Economic Success and Human Well-Being—a June 2010 Urban Institute report commissioned by CPS—CPS is proposing Social Wealth indicators that show the enormous value of the work of caring and caregiving in both the market and non-market economic sectors.
Join our coalition of organizations and individuals representing over 30 million people urging the Obama Administration and Congress to adopt the report's recommendations by adding your name to our list of signatories!
